- 4 large russet potatoes
- 1 pound ground beef or lamb
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1 cup carrots, diced
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 cups mashed potatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Wash and pierce the russet potatoes with a fork, then bake them for 45-60 minutes until tender.
- In a skillet, sauté onions and garlic until fragrant. Add ground beef or lamb and cook until browned.
- Stir in diced carrots, peas, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and beef broth. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Once the potatoes are baked, cut them open and fluff the insides with a fork.
- Spoon the meat mixture on top of the fluffed potatoes, followed by a layer of mashed potatoes.
